Join us for an afternoon in the Kings Cross Community Garden dedicated to design, craftsmanship and respect for our tools.

Hosted in partnership with Shokunin Store, an online boutique dedicated to traditional Japanese artisan goods, this is a unique opportunity to explore a curated selection of artisan-made garden tools, what makes them different and how thoughtful design can elevate our gardening experience.

When

  • Saturday 24 May, 2–4pm

What to expect

  • A guided introduction to traditional Japanese garden tools from Kings Cross Community Garden member Yuko Nakao, Shokunin’s co-founder

  • Hands-on demonstrations and tool care tips from horticulturalist Yuta Asakura from the Greenfriends Gardens team

  • Reflections on best-practice tool care in our own garden 

  • Afternoon tea and conversation with fellow garden and design enthusiasts.

10% discount on a selection of Shokunin tools on the day of the workshop.
